The Roost is a large public house with separate bars, a public bar, lounge area, mezzanine bar and a music bar. It combines the old with the new, as the pub still has many of its original pieces in place.
Enjoy a spot of lunch or dinner in The Roost from midday to 9pm daily but do not overlook the breath taking features throughout the pub from stone matches mixed with timber and glass to the beautiful flower display that has been known to be a topic of conversation among locals and tourists alike.
Throughout the years The Roost has had a great connection with Rugby and GAA. Several of our customers have represented both Ireland at an International rugby level and at University level for the All Blacks of New Zealand.

Really good place to get drinks
We were staying in Maynooth for one night and were fortunate enough to find this wonderful venue. Bar staff were all lovely and welcoming, security guy was really friendly and helpful re recommendations for food (they had stopped serving food on site by the time we got there) and the owner was an absolute joy and took time to chat with us. Even when they needed to see my kids’ ID as kids need to be off site by 10pm (my kids are both adults but look younger than their ages), this was asked for pleasantly and discreetly. And everyone was great with my son, who is high-functioning autistic (the incredibly thoughtful owner even offered to try to find some ear defenders if anything got too loud for him!), which meant we could all relax and enjoy our night. A great venue, that offers everything from a quiet outdoor seating area to traditional music in another part of the venue to a louder more ‘nightclub feel’ in another part. All age profiles were there and having a great night, as this place offers something for everyone. Lovely relaxed vibe, can’t recommend this place highly enough. We will definitely be back!
